So, it is as the title says: my Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) is filled up. Not with apps, but with 'System Memory'. The device only has 8 GB of storage, and about 48%+ of that (3.3 GB) is used by System Memory. Well, apps fill 4 GB, but that is why I have removed about 20% of the system apps (like Google, Hangouts, and many more). Note: this guide assumes you are using the default web browser for Android. If you’re using a 3rd party web browser that you downloaded from the Android Market (like Firefox, Opera or Dolphin HD) – these steps will not clear the history from those browsers.

Clean Up My Tablet

  1. Launch the Android Browser on your Tablet. Select the ‘menu’ button from the upper-right corner of the Browser window (see image below). Tap Settings from the list.
  2. Select the Privacy & security item from the left column. Tap the Clear history button.
  3. You’ll be prompted to confirm that you do indeed want to permanently delete the list of sites you have visited on your Android Tablet. Tap OK.
  4. Now the Clear history entry will be “grayed out”.
  5. That’s it – you’re done!
